Extension of Antivirus A until the end of this year

The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MSLA) has issued a statement on Antivirus. On Tuesday, October 14, 2020, the government approved the extension of Antivirus A until the end of this year. Companies closed by the government order will now be entitled to 100% wage compensation. In the case of quarantine, the state contribution remains at 80% of wage compensation.

By extension of Antivirus Programme A until the end of the year, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is coming up with improvements that will help vulnerable employees and companies even more. Hospitality and culture were hit hardest by the emergency measures taken. This regime is intended for companies closed by the government order. Until now, the employer was entitled to 80% of the cost of compensation of wages, but a maximum of CZK 39,000 per employee. The employer will newly receive 100% of wage compensation and the maximum will be increased to CZK 50,000 per employee. As mentioned above, program A will last until the end of the year. The 80% compensation for quarantined employees remains within the program.

Antivirus B, in which the state contributes to compensation of employees’ wages in companies that were indirectly affected by the coronavirus crisis (for example, reduction of demand for services, products, and other products of the company, restricting the availability of inputs such as raw materials, products, services), remains unchanged and should be operational by the end of October. Antivirus C concerned the remission of compulsory social insurance contributions for employers for three months (June, July, August). Minister Maláčová stated that the government will discuss the modifications of Antivirus B and C in near future and will possibly introduce further changes.
